Our second area of expertise is weight loss, and more specifically Metabolic Health. Its no secret that obesity is rampant in our society these days, and it’s one of our distinct missions to help individuals overcome their weight and obesity issues. When it comes to metabolic health, things get a little more complicated than weight – we are talking high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, hormonal imbalance, etc. We not only want to help solve these issues, but we want to do it in a way that empowers and educates our students so that they don’t relapse and put the weight right back on.
We have a couple programs that help us solve the weight loss issue and help us to restore metabolic health. The first is our Nutrition Program. At it’s core, our Nutrition Program is designed to teach you proper nutrition habits. What we’ve found is that most obese individuals just simply haven’t been educated on how to live healthily and how to fuel themselves in a healthy manner. There is so much information available, and more over, so much inaccurate information, it’s nearly impossible to know where to start.
Our Nutrition Program is focused around understanding where someone is and then creating a plan from there. It’s important to distinguish that we are not advocates of diets, because going on a diet implies that it has a predetermined start and end date. What we focus on is creating lasting lifestyle changes that suit our clients and their specific preferences and desires. Because our goal is to educate our nutrition students, we created a tiered system that allows them to downgrade as the student becomes more self-sufficient. The top tier consists of frequent communication and education and as the tiers progress downwards, the communication consists mostly of guidance and accountability.
To take things one step further, we have our Metabolic Health program, which is similar to the Nutrition Program above but we get a little bit more science driven using a metabolic measurement tool that allows us to determine a person’s exact Resting Metabolic Rate and optimal heart rate for fat burning. Using these two data points, we can create an extremely precise diet and exercise plan to get significant results as fast as possible. By helping people understand exactly what their bodies need for fuel, exactly how much they need, and the optimal exercise, we are able to facilitate life changing results in the shortest amount of time.
Now I’d be remiss to state that while improving a person’s nutrition and metabolic health is pretty straight forward and simple, it by no means is easy. It requires sacrifice, it requires discipline, and it requires work. And if a person is not ready to commit to that level of program, we will not find success.
