Dustin specializes in the technicalities in movements and points of performance. “I always strive to help members move better and be more efficient with their energy every day,” he says. “I am passionate about helping others in or outside of the gym. If someone needs anything that I can provide I will do so without a second thought.”
What Dustin most loves about coaching is watching attitudes and bodies change through training. “When our members reach the goal they have been chasing, to see the look of utter joy on their face when it is accomplished and them being proud of themselves is the most enjoyable part of coaching for me.” While he only dabbled in sports throughout school, including track, wrestling and football, Dustin was crushing his CrossFit goals in relative obscurity until owner Dave Yandel approached him one day about becoming a coach. “Their member base here was growing and they needed more coaches,” he says. “I turned him down at least twice before I agreed. Then I began the interning process, which took several months, and was made an assistant coach.” A few months later, he went and attained his Level 1 certificate and hasn’t looked back since.
A little-known fact about Dustin: “I collect Hot Wheels. I have a collection of almost 500 cars. I have been collecting for six years.” When he’s not collecting or coaching, Dustin enjoys spending most of his free time with his family.
